VOCATIONAL EDUCATION & TRAINING FOR BURMESE REFUGEES

In vocational education and training to refugees, the kind of training relevant to their life experiences and work experiences in their life such as farming, rural production etc should be provided to them rather than the training based on high technology.

In short time, the training should aim to provide the vocational training for their survival needs together with literacy and numeracy training.

The Australian training packages that are relevant to provide the vocational training appropriate to life experiences and work experiences of most Burmese refugees can be found in the following presentation. It is aimed to provide the information for the organizations which are providing rescue and caring services to Burmese refugees.

It is to be noted that not all RTOs will deliver the training to refugees but the organization that provides assistance to refugees can coordinate with them to provide the vocational training to refugees as today Australian Government is interested in founding Australian Technical Colleges around the world to train skilled migrants to Australia to fill skills needs in Australia.
