In the system, depending on the type of industries such as technical, agricultural, business and economics, cooking etc where the trainee is being employed or intends to work, the real tasks to be performed at the workplace are divided into modules of competencies which compose of series of competencies. The trainee undertakes both on and off-the-job training in each competency belongs to the module and both practical performance and theoretical knowledge related to the module are assessed. The qualification ranging from statement of attainment, certificate I to advanced diploma is awarded to the trainee who has completed the required number of modules under the qualification.
